Necromancers Tolerated?

Post by Gronkalonk » Sun Nov 07, 2004 2:07 pm

Would a necromancer be tolerated in Avlis? I wanna start a necro wizard and I wanna know what it would mean RP-wise.

there are some already.

They are tolerated OOC. They are less tolerated IC, but that is due to their nature.

And some are more/less tolerated IC than others. Depends on how you play your necromancer.

The degree of tolerance also strongly depends on where you are. In the elven nation, not much IC tolerance, but Mikona, for example, you probably wouldn't face quite as much hostility just for being a necromancer.

I can always do with a Apprentice

Be nice RP oppertunity for both partys

GameSpy: Boda Xeo
PC: Isamu, Necromancer Of Doreg-Magret

Seek me out ICly when I get back

Have fun

Yes a Sorc can call himself a Necromancer........ He Body ICly is more intuned with Negative and Undead Macbre powers

*I think*

Where a Wiz studied the arts to become one...... You could say a Sorc might be more in tuned with the Undead than a Wiz.... just maybe

A necromancer would just be someone who utilizes the negative energy plane and undead, yes? So any sorcerer who goes out of their way to concentrate and learn the necromancy line of spells would be a necromancer in an IC sense. Of course they'd have to primarily concentrate on using those spells I'd say though.

Summon Undead, Summon Mummy, Energy Drain, Vampiric Touch, Banshee, Death armor, stone bones.. Lots of necromancy based magic.

So "Isamu, Necromancer Of Doreg-Magret " is looking for an apprentice?
Well, maybe "Zartan Bane, a simple Necromancer" should seek him and take his CV with him.

I know of a certain Ivory Order Mage, who wrote a book on Necromancy ... and managed to persuade other Ivory Order members that there is nothing wrong with it.

Using un-dead

Post by Kaffine » Tue Apr 26, 2005 5:49 am

Greetings all

Just a note that if you are in a party adventuring thru caves and esspecially crypts it is usually a good idea to tell the party that you are about to summonds a undead cus the un-initiated get a bit edgy when a ghast suddenly turns up in the middle of the party...

But from my point of view its a laugh...Muhahahahhah

On a related note, a friend of mine brought an undead-hating necromancer into our PnP campaign. Was one of the most original and refreshing takes on necros I've ever seen. Unfortunately, PnP has a few spells that I think are missing from NWN, so sadly, I think we'll be stuck with nothing but the standard sort.

Thank god! I guess the "ooooh, look at me being evil and creepy!" types just attract more attention.

GO, NON-STANDARD NECROS!!! :D

Hey, lay off the necromancers. What did mine ever do to you? Besides kill you and animate your corpse to do his evil bidding?
