Clicking in-and-out of NWN window

Post by Mackenson » Fri Apr 01, 2005 8:54 pm

I'm running NWN in windowed mode, and tend to occassionally tab out of the window to look something up in the forums or to write some notes.

The problem is, tabbing back into the NWN window tends to move my character around, which is embaressing when I suddenly stand up and move a few feet for no apparent reason.

I've tried clicking on the window title bar, right clicking, center clicking, just alt-tabbing .... there doesn't seem to be a dependable way of going back into the window without having my PC do a little dance.

Has anyone found a way of doing this?

I run NWN this way about 75% of the time.

I get back to the game doing what you've listed and don't have any problems. Sorry, I know this is no help to you, but wanted to let you know I do it w/ out any problems, so it can be done.

The game remembers where your mouse pointed at when alt-tabbing, and automatically clicks there when returning. Move your mouse over the compass before switching.

yes PsO, that is exactly what you told me :P

I always single click on the the top bar of the screen to give it focus before trying anything. This way, the character doesn't move any.

Yeah ... I've been doing that as well and half the time my PC gets up and does a little jog or walks a few paces and smacks into someone.

Always hard to explain in character ...

I will try Krator's suggestion. That seems logical. Thanks!

I suppose you could blame it on a cramp or something, hop around and swear a bit

I always blame the bees biting my wemics butt. I even use that excuse when I accidently attack someone, which I've done twice now.
