Has anyone had Lycanthropy recently? Has it been removed from the game? I went and tried to catch it from a wererat and from a werecat with my level 8 rogue/ranger (Fortitude

, but no matter how much they batted me around I didn't contract it, got at least 30 hits from each. Damn. Wanted to see what happened... cos I've never seen anyone with it in the couple of months I've been playing on Avlis, and it was one of the things that perked my interest when I read the World Info. Couldn't find anything about it being removed though, when searching the boards.
Maybe I was just (un)lucky?
Cheers,
kRo

Good point actually and something I hadn't considered for ages. When I first started playing I'd see almost one person per session that had been "changed" ..... damn, it even happened to me once.
I think it was kinda cool (led to some interesting roleplaying), and would perhaps also reduce the number of low-level greedy thieves looting the poor people of the slums.

One reason is that nobody ever confronts the fierce wererats anymore.. those who truly hit often and infected you... as the dwarven quarters have been declared off-limits...

fierce were rats appear in the slums if you're high enough in level.
Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

This statement is false

there are also some in the sewers - but I can't say for sure if they infect you, as I am immune. Maybe I'll drag a newbie down there as a test

The lycanthropy code has been temporarily disabled. I didn't get around to re-implement it, yet

I have a question: when you do contract Lycanthrophy does that mean you always go mad from having it?
Can't someone use his/her were-form for good/evil without loosing his/her mind?
Bloodlust! Hatred! Greed! They melt with Divine Magic and twist my very Soul! It burns!!
It burns like Fire in my veins! And that Fire shall consume all that oppose me!

Only his code has been removed. The player can still post here, as long as he doesn't use any code.
