Wemic Rangers?

Post by Kalynda » Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:34 pm

I was just making the preparations for my first character.

I wanted to try a Wemic Ranger. However, as far as I can see, neither Balgar nor Aryeh Gidol can have Rangers.

Does this mean that we can't have Wemics as Rangers? Or do they have to follow someone else, such as O'Ma or Verossa, according to their alignment, instead of one of the 'Wemic' Deities? My understanding was that pretty well all Wemics follow either Balgar or Aryeh Gidol, so this looks suspiciously as if they would be following a different Deity just in order to be a Ranger - and secretly still following either the Mother or the Son. This sounds rather Cheesy to me. :?

Another possibility which might make sense would be to follow Dre'Ana. Some Wemics are from Jechran so this would make sense as long as Dre'Ana can have Rangers. According to the Wiki, it seems this is allowed.

Even so, it still seems a shame that Wemics cannot follow one of their 'natural' Deities and still be Rangers.

Anyone else encountered this problem? Any thoughts please?

To start with I made my Wemic Ranger without a Deity, planning to convert to an appropriate Deity later. I realise this means she gets no magic, but I think it takes a while before Rangers get any spells, especially for a Wemic. I also ended up with the wrong choice of head (I have the hair with the Alice band instead of the pony tail), but that doesn't really matter.

Edit - It seems the same applies to Wemic Druids - no Druids of either Balgar or Aryeh Gidol. However, Clerics are in luck - both are acceptable Deities.

List of valid ranger and druid deities can be found here: http://avlis.org/viewtopic.php?f=118&t=95979&start=0

Take a look under B. ;)

1. Make sure the right alignment
2. Find a friendly DM

1. It says Balgar accepts Wemics of Any alignment.
2. :?
3. Sounds good

So it seems my Wemic Ranger should be fine, apart from looking pretty silly with a shortbow. It looks like a child's toy. Saving up for a longbow

PM me with your playtimes... I'll give you a one-time conversion to the God of your choice. :-)
Success will be lovely, but you will have to go out and get it! Failure will invite itself in.

Come on Kai ... we all know Gorrr is just trying to get his paws on an innocent young female wemic. Actually, he is a fine Priest of Balgar - he officiates at all our special occasions. :)

Talking of loneliness, so far I have seen one other PC, whose Player was trying to get a problem fixed at the time. There are others online but I guess they are off somewhere else and not where they can be found.

My Wemic has cleared the rats from all of the fields she could find, but the farmers seem ungrateful. They do not respond when she advises them the rats have been cleared.

Do people only come out when it gets dark in the US, or have I picked a bad day? :?

Sunday night might pick up a bit.
Though Friday & Saturday nights usually results in lots of people.
Anyway, there are there, but servers are very large.

CHeck the player list and send folks a TELL asking them if they'd be interested in getting together for exploring, crafting, touring a city, etc. etc. Folks are GREAT here when it comes to that.

I'm terrible for not asking and also making decisions.
Also that thought never occurs to me.
