How Far will u stretch for me?
How far will it go before the rubber-band breaks and you are gone?
How far will you will be a solid bridge for me to get where I want to go?
How far?
I can’t even ask you because it might hurt u.
I need to take care of you too.
You are important to me.
The ask often fails.
I can’t always rebuild the bridge
I like libraries. It makes me feel comfortable and secure to have walls of words, beautiful and wise, all around me. I always feel better when I can see that there is something to hold back the shadows. Roger Zelazny, Nine Princes in Amber

What do you do when someone else’s joy kills yours?
Joy. . . . can. . . . be. . . selfish.
Synchronize breath with the rise and fall of summer’s drone.
Synchronize self with the the rise and fall of the cat’s purr.
Synchronize self with the arrival of a humming bird - unafraid;
Of a chic-a-dee - unafraid;
Of a sparrow - unafraid.
Space and time interrupted.
The lazy single engine doing lazy circles over perceived vacant land.
The highway just beyond the trees.
The pilot feeling the instruments and machine balance and dance under their self.
The traffic going home, or away from home, or getting paid to go somewhere, or coming back from getting paid to go somewhere.
The cat decides to catch hand in claw and teeth - practice for purpose.
The mosquito bites for survival.
What do you do when someone else’s joy kills yours?
