"Becoming" NPCs in the Mikona Tavern

When I log on I can move around and that is about it. After a minute of this or so without being able to interact with anything in the area I become one of the NPCs in the tavern. The first time this happened I became the bartender, and the second time I became a Noble Woman. When this "transformation" happens (I can still see my character in the room) I can't do anything except access the options menu (which I use to quit the game.) Any ideas on what is happening? I'm new and would really like to try playing. Thanx.

your standard possession bug from the sounds of it. We've gotten rumors that doing a quest for the clerics of valok mess up your character. I dont know anyone that has NEVER gotten bitten by the possession, but if it happens every time then youve prolly got a problem. its a bioware problem though, and so we cant really do much to fix it.

Standard possession bug. There is nothing much we can do about it and it has been around as long as NWN. Most often rears his ugly head under heavy lag conditions. Keep your fiingers crossed and hope/pray that bioware one day finds the source and fixes it.

People can find the source now but they can't fix it. Bioware don't listen to its customers (good job on making NWN but your customer suppor sucks) so alas maybe it will be fixed. There too busy on them expansions though. Maybe if it happens in the expansion they will take steps to fix it.
