Question for DMs

I was wondering... Are DMs able to read PCs discussions in whispering mode or see Tells?

Tells no. Whispers yes, if I'm close enough and I usually make damn sure I am.

Oh and party mode also get's forced in the DM conversation window, which is highly annoying at one side since it spams up any conversation you are trying to follow, but sometimes highly entertaining because it will lead you to some likely targets for a surprise Balor party.
