Hey, just wondering what kind of machine is needed to run a persistant world. I wouldn't imagine it would have the same specs as those needed to run the game, but I could be wrong...
Originally i heard people talking about your server will be based on what type of a connection you have and even at some points i heard that a cable modum can hold 64 people and a 56k would hold about 8
after reading this post i went to look to see if i could find out more and now they are saying it will be based more on your cpu
heres what ive got so far
P4 1.7 about 5 - 6 players for reasonable play
and from what else ive read it will be almost unreachable to get 64 people on a server all this i got from a forum it could be wrong it could be right noone will know for sure untill we get that game on our comps and try it (at my best buy tomarrow or thursday)

Remember the server does not need to do anything with graphics. It just sends and receives bits of data and makes a few calculations in between.
We've got a pretty decent server (I don't remember the specs *bump* Silk). The connection we have will be a cable modem, and again, I have no idea how the performance will be if there are ever 64 people logged on. Still, I am optimistic.
