Look Ma! SoU in Avlis!

Post by Ykirhs » Sat Jun 21, 2003 10:02 pm

Right... I'm not sure what this means, but I just created a character in Avlis: Mikona, with SoU Skills and Feats. I have not tested to see if they are completely implemented (i.e. Part of the basic gameplay code as of 1.3) nor do the feats and skills have a name or description attached... but Glitchnick ZuggZugg under the Gamespy name Ykirhs has them.

I have screenshots of both the Skills and Feats in the Avlis Mikona Starting tent (But no where to post them at the moment in order to display here)

Edit: Just made a Mage with the Thug feat and a few of the new spells. Still no name or desc but the Effects of the feat and the spell are completly implemented.

On a slightly related note, if we have SoU, can we use the new SoU spells or do we have to wait for Avlis to take SoU? I just leveled, so I wanna know if I should go ahead and level or wait until i buy SoU tonight and get the new spells.

See the thread in the bug forum, but yes, even though they do not have names or descriptions, you are able to learn, memorize, and cast the new spells... but your chances of finding a scroll of said spell are extremely low until Avlis does swap over.

Apparently people have been using them, there's an IC thread about someone running around casting Flesh to Stone on a bunch of people (a little rough since until everyone gets SoU, not many people will have Stone to Flesh to turn people back), and I saw someone with a faerie dragon familiar. I don't know if anyone's taken prestige class levels yet. Also, the descriptions, etc. are there if you use the normal SoU dialog.tlk,, but not if you use the avlis dialog.tlk, because it's designed for non-SoU. Eventually Avlis will have to make two dialog.tlk's, one for SoU owners, and one for non-owners.

That was a DM thing, and only one player was turned to stone all the rest were NPCs.........relax people.

Still waiting to see the screens pal.

I was wondering, stone to flesh isn't on the SoU spell-list AFAIK...

Would be pretty nasty to have one without the other

I assume that we will have creatures that can do this to you, so do we get mirrors too? :D

*whew*

As for seperate dialog.tlks, wouldn't it be better to merge the spell bits into the current one so non-SoU folks can at least see the name of the spell being cast?

I created a new character and some new skills were visible. However, when I tried to select them, it said they were not available until SoU was installed.

How typical of Bioware to let them show up, but not let us select them.

This included things like Create Traps, Tumble and Assess, if I remember correctly :D

Did you have base ranks in those skills from Att Mods?

Well, my friends, here are the pics of what happens when Theton's bored:

This is me telling the balor that he is not worthy my worship.

And here I am, worshipping the one that is worthy.

The all-powerful one found me suitable to bestow his powers upon me:

After much worshipping, the all-powerful one felt ready to wreak havoc among the city of Mikona, but was halted by the bigotted mob of Mikona's finest.

The all-powerful one vanquished, I, as his champion, decided to do as he did and allow myself to be worshipped in his likeness, and perhaps allow him an avenue to roam the streets once again. I only got one follower...so it...uh, failed.

As a matter of interest - how long does flesh to stone last on Avlis? What difficulty setting is Avlis on?

If used on an npc, it seems to work until you rest. If on another PC, then one round per caster level. I think that's it.

Yeah that's it.

that was me making sculpture gardens. The server starts to lag severly after 6 statues. at 10-12 it crashes guarenteed. So go easy on the flesh to stone when/if it comes in.
