As I wait ...

Post by apsk121 » Wed Nov 19, 2003 3:54 am

As I wait for my application to be accepted (or not :( ), I can't help getting more and more excited going thru the articles on the website and forums over and over again :D
I was wondering , what features are present in Avlis, that you cannot find in any other NWN Persistent World out there .. ? :?:

It would be a great help to Newbies like me to make up their mind about playing on Avlis (although I already have ;) )

Regards,
Angad

Some unique features that come to mind right away:
-A VERY well done Custom Crafting system
-Player housing (you can actually build your own and import it)
-6 Active Servers
-Some of the best roleplayers I have ever seen
-Loads of Static Quests
-Balanced Magical item availability
-And now: A SCRIPTED SYSTEM TO MAKE UNIQUE CHARACTER RACES AVAILABLE TO ANYONE!! (Kobalds, half ogres, gnolls, centuars, wemics, ghost elves, dragonari elves, etc.)

Those are just a few. What really makes this the place to be is the great team that works their asses off to bring you the best PW around. Not that other places dont do this, but this PW has a HUGE team of designers, coders, and DM's that have made some awsome changes and developments lately. 8)

WoW !! You can do that ?? How ?
I can't wait !!!!!!!!

About the huge hakpak files, what 'special' things do those contain ? I bet they have eyecandy in there. Unfortunately, there are limited screenies on the website, does anybody have more of them, I'll make myself happy and tingly by looking at them ! :P

as to player housing, there are guidelines that are available, and of course there is an in-game cost attached.

as for the haks.

1) there are tileset haks for specific servers, so that it makes those areas more appropriate, i.e. underground cities for Deglos, rolling hills for Ferrell, etc..

2) the CoPaP & Universal haks include a lot of additional content stuff like heads, appearnces, weapon models, custom race models, etc..

hope that wets your appettite even more...

I clicked on yours and mine and it took me to the player housing information. It is under Development -> world development and is a sticky if you want to go there manually.

The link takes me to the front page as well, strangely enough. I know full well where the target thread is and the URL checks out. It doesn't redirect me properly though.

It's a sticky thread and you can find it like this:

1. Go to "The Avlis Project: Development"
2. Go on to "The Avlis Project: World Development"
3. Find the "Sticky: Player housing & Prices" thread, that's the one the link should take you to.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.
