I've had some troubles with crashes/stuttering/etc. that appeared to be video related but which were actually fixed by changing the sound provider. Can't you just run the 1.66 patch on the Diamond DVD? That is what I did, I think and have had no problems. It is on the DVD if you look for it... *goes to check* ... Ok - look for NWNEnglish1.66HotUUpdate on the DVD.

You just copy the contents of the folder that you want to use (the style you want) into the override folder. The documentation that comes with it explains it pretty clearly.

When he says gamespy I think that he really means his Bioware/NWN account. Go to http://nwn.bioware.com and click the login help link on the left side. You'll need your community name, which should be the same as on the login screen when you launch multiplayer. That should do it.

I had to dig around a bit to find a version of the Alternate Combat Animations with the .mdl files as I could not get the 3.0 version with hak files to work.
