Stolen Reindeer? (Part I: Elysia: Closed)

In the heart of Elysia's warehouse district, a half-elf clad in a leather apron paces with an air of unease. His fingers intermittently trace the surface of a pristine crate adorned with a imprint portraying a regal deer. Soon, a older man, distinguished by frazzled white hair and a resplendent white mustache, enters the scene. A delicate sewing needle is clutched in his hand, while his attire bears streaks of paint.

"Have you already informed the guards? Any discernible leads?" inquires the elder man, his gaze probing. He opens one of the stacked crates in the chamber, only to find it empty.

The younger man hesitates before responding, "Should we? Considering—well, look for yourself." he gestures towards the crate he has been fussing over, inviting his father's inspection.

A disappointed furrow forms on the older man's brow as he opens the crate adjacent to the anxious half-elf. A moment of hesitation passes before he extracts a pouch and, with an surprised expression, pours out gold.

The half-elf, his demeanor marked by nervous shrugs and fluttering hands, offers an explanation. "They broke in, pilfered our entire inventory of our new line of plush, yet curiously... left behind the full payment in gold to compensate."

A grimace of dissatisfaction etches itself onto the elder man's countenance. "We still have several outstanding orders for the deer. I'll get to work. Your assistance in helping us catch up, Rathas, will be indispensable."

Meanwhile, on the city streets, a few children are seen carrying tiny stuffed reindeer toys, laughing and delighting...

The Lost Reindeer
