So anyone have any idea on how to maybe make the download time less than 10 minutes?
Have you tried a download manager? Download managers are utilities that not only help to speed up download times, but they usually can queue files for scheduled downloads and generally can resume halted downloads as well. There are quite a few out there but Free Download Manager is pretty good and, not surprisingly, it's free.

By copying cfr_cg04_1.30.hak to cfr_cg04_130_b.hak, I was able to log into Ferrell successfully. Both files are required, but I don't know what part of the server may have issues because I didn't run through the whole thing. I just ran around the heartland a little.

I would suggest against doing this; if there IS a difference between the files, it will crash your client when you encounter it.

There is a copy of the file in the avlis_v1.rar file posted in the SourceForge site.

I also have a copy of the file (that has been rar'd) and if someone want's to post that somewhere easy to find, I can send it.

I seem to be having problems with the copaptlk_4_8.tlk. Husband says its in the right place and its the right file, but when I try to log in NWN tells me I don't have it. Anyone else having problems?

Thanks

How very odd. I used the Avlis installer on page one and it downloaded in about 10 minutes and installed in about 10 minutes and I've been golden since. X:|

The cfr_cg04_130_b.hak is in the Avlis content installer (Not the CoPaP one. Linked at the bottom of the first post here), but afaik isn't supposed to be live yet (yay for new stuff). You can now log in without it, so I'm guessing there was an oops along the way. If you renamed the cfr_cg04_1.30.hak to cfr_cg04_130_b.hak, please delete it now. If you don't, it may have unpredictable results when the hak is needed, since it has some fixes for the cfr_cg04_1.30.hak (nice ones!).

Hrm, you are right. Well don't do the renaming trick. The file is in the avlis installer here, but there is no point in redownloading the rest of our haks with it. I'm still waiting to get my new place setup for file hosting, so it would be great if the cfr_cg04_130_b.hak was available as a stand alone download on javaforge (Or if NH4 added it to his site). I'll see what I can dig up for a temp site and post the link here. It is small.

It should be worth the effort if you hate those silly hills and stuff in Ferrell. 8-)

I am happy to host it on the Mirror. MK, any chance you could supply a copy of it please, so I don't need to download the Installer just to get that one file? :?

Best I could do on short notice. http://www.mediafire.com/file/jyzmzyw0f ... _130_b.hak

I'm sure there are ads without a blocker, so I warned you in advance.

Nighthawk4, the hak is in avlis_v1.rar here, and you can extract the files from the .exe installer with any rar extraction program.

Yep, same problem as you.
Is it because I'm on a Mac? ;-)

SF1 watched it find and open the file, but Avlis says I don't have it.

My apologies for totally forgetting about the cfr_cg04_130_b.hak there is a stand alone on Javaforge aswell http://www.javaforge.com/displayDocumen ... c_id=73524

@silverfields2, If you used the copap installer try downloading the standalone copaptlk_4_8.tlk and manually place the file in your /tlk folder. If you didn't use installer then I can only suggest :
1. Rename your current tlk folder to tlk_bak and create a new one, then manually place the tlk file
2. Rename the existing old copaptlk_4_7.tlk to copaptlk_4_8.tlk and see if it loads. If it does then it is likely the new copaptlk_4_8.tlk might be corrupt and would require replacing.

EDIT: LOL thanks PJ for pointing that out.

Do we need both the _b and the non _b hak? or just the non _b hak?

The wiki needed files page is now updated with the javaforge and NH4's mirror links to cfr_cg04_130_b.

I copied the files manually (installer won't run for a Mac). I tried both manually placing the tlk file and renaming the old 4_7 to the 4_8 as suggested and neither worked.

Did you get in David A. Smith?

I use a Mac and I didn't have any problems with the files. I downloaded them manually of course.

What error message do you get? Which file does it say is missing? :?

The Mac is case-sensitive, does the filename exactly match the name in the error message?
