Rogue's UMD.

Hello,
I was wondering how I could tell if my Rogue's UMD skill is high enough to use a certain magical device ?
I have a Wand of Summoning II and a UMD of 7. Is there something in the description of the Wand that would give me any indication if it's "useable" or not ?
Or perhaps a chart for reference ?
Thanks !
W.

First you'll need to know the innate level of the spell, ranging from 0 to 9, which can be found either in the various NWN manuals or here
http://www.avlis.org/wiki/index.php/Magic:Spell_List (might be a partial list though).
With UMD you'll need to add the spell level +25 if cast from a scroll or +20 if from a rod/wand/staff.
So to succesfully use your Wand of Summon II (I presume it casts
Summon Creature II
) you need to beat a DC of 20 (base DC for wands) + 2 (innate spell level) which means you need to roll at least 15 with an UMD of 7.
And don't go FOIG on me because it can also be found here:

Check pg 178 of your orig NWN game manual for a nice chart on UMD.

Those charts are not valid with the Avlis custom changes to UMD.

The information that can be found in either the NWN manuals or the Grimoire is correct. The only changes done to UMD are for purposes of using spells from scrolls, wands or staves (but not rods). DCs for this can be read in the wiki, as stated above.
