The post on being flat-footed all the time got me thinking. Do you lose the AC from having 5 ranks in tumble when you are flat-footed?

Tumble AC bonus does not decrease when you are flat footed.

Yes. Tumble skill gives you a Dodge AC bonus. Being flat footed means you loose both Dodge and Dex based AC bonuses. Makes sense really, you can't very well be tumbling all over the place if you are also flat-footed.

*edit*

Heh it seems we disagree, I guess the third poster should be the decider!

The third poster will just say he hopes not, because if the answer is yes, then he is even more fucked up than he thought

Tumble gives Dodge AC. You lose Dodge AC when flat-footed. The conclusion is obvious. And even if you have Uncanny Dodge you lose it anyway. :)

The AC bonus for having 5 ranks of tumble is not Dodge AC or else I'd lose it when wearing heavy armour. I lose all other tumble bonuses because of the armour check penalty, but I still have the AC bonus for 5 ranks of tumble.

As to the original question, I don't know.

You don't lose Dodge AC when wearing heavy armor. You only lose your Dex bonus to AC.

Ok, so is that different to the Dodge AC bonus you get from the Dodge feat? Because the description for the feet says something like that anything that negates Dex bonus to AC also negates dodge bonus. Are they different or is the description wrong?

I tested it today, and you loose tumble AC bonus when flat-footed.

"Negating" dex bonus to AC in this case is different than "restricting" maximum dex bonus. Negating means you lose all dex bonus to AC, amor (even the heaviest) merely restricts it to be a lower number.

dodge bonus from the feat Dodge is a conditional thing and will never show up on your character sheet, so you'd have to watch for it in your opponents attacks.

Yeah, I knew the feat dodge was hard to see.... I just assumed I never got it and only took the feat for WM. But apparently this isn't the case.... Woohoo! :D

Thanks for clearing that up.
