Give you your highest DC's

Alright you number crunchers, I have a task for you to work on while you are bored at work.
I'm curious as to how high DC's can get for saving against spells and saving against Devastating Critical. Put together your max build and see what you can come up with.
I've been experimenting with gear that would give high saving throws, and would like to see how close I'm getting. (I'd rather not experiment IG with Ed Dev. Critting Zach.

)
Looking forward to what you number-monkeys come up with!

Your local neighbourhood half-nymph sorcerer could:
Spell Foci: +12
50 Cha (23 at level 1, 38 at level 40, 12 from spells and effects): +20
Level 9 Spell: +9
= 51
Your local friendly Angadarian Psionic could:
Level 39 Psion: +19
45 Wisdom: +17
Base: 12 (for some powers)
= 48
Sorry, I only deal in sorcerers and psionics

Half-orc started on another CoPAP world can take RDD:
20 (starting STR) + 10 (every 4 levels) + 8 (RDD bonuses) + 7 (Great Strength at 21,24 ... 39) + 12 (magic items) = 57
Dev Crit DC=
10 (base) + 20 (level/2) + 23 (Str modifier) = 53
Are there half-ogres, gnolls or wemics available on other CoPAP worlds?

40th level Scythe Master
Paladin: 13
Weapon Master: 5
Champion of Torm: 22
Here is the minimum damage calculations for smite evil:
2 (Minimum Scythe Damage) +
3 (Strength Bonus * 1.5) +
4 (Divine Favour) +
10 (Divine Might) +
7 (Divine Wrath) +
385 (Smite Evil = 11 (Great Smite X) * 35 (Pal 13 + CoT 22))
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
411
Combined with a Critical Hit:
411 * 5 (Scythe *4 +1 Increased Crit Multipier from Weapon Master)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2055 Minimum Damage
At level 24 they could take Dev Crit. (not that you would need it

)
All of the above assumes the character has no magic items.

For a 40th level player with a base str of 25 (to get dev crit) + 12 str from buffs etc (37 str) would be 20+13+10= 43.
I'm sure that people can higher than 37 for their str but a fort save of 43 would be a minimum figure against dev crit.
*points up to the 50+ fort save post above*.. ouch.. heh

wemic str can get to...
18
+7 wemic
+4 by 20 (no lvl 4 raise because of ECL3)
+5 for 21-40
+7 from epic str (no class offers str, only 7 tops even though feat goes up to 10)
+12 from gear (NWN max)
= 53
and that character would be unhappy because there are better things to do with your character than be a one trick pony.
Bonus for dev crit at 40 is 30+ str bonus. No feats, etc. that is it.
53 str (+21)
So the max possible Dev Crit save is DC 51 ... and noone is ever going to really get that high.
DC ~45-48 is realistic. Getting a fort save up above 44 is not.
normal str fighter type will get to...
16
+0 race
+5 by 20 from lvl
+5 for 21-40 from lvl
+6 from epic str (1 feat spare to play with want an even number anyway)
+12 from gear (NWN max)
= 44 (+17)
30+17 = 47
Normal str fighter fort save will get to...
0 base
+0 race
+12 by 20 from lvl
+10 for 21-40 from lvl
+8 con bonus
+? gear
would need +17 fort save from gear to survive dev crit. Because it is pretty much an all or nothing. When someone it hitting you 6 times around with a 45-55% chance of dev crit, a 'decent save' is still death.
*Con bonus normally...
14 base
+12 gear/buff (with 9 from potion alone with militant this is realistic)
26 (+8)

Done that...Ouch
Wouldnt a Paladin have the best chance to get a high fort save?

Who needs fort save when you can get immune to crit ...

Best chance of a high for save is being a con based character of any fort heavy class, which is all melee, monk, clerics, druid, and I am sure some others I forgot. Do not really need to specialize to hard into min/maxing that.
I guess a DD would be the best.
Then you do the con route.
con
16 base
+10 by lvl at 40.
+6 from epic feats
+12 gear/buff
44 con (+17)
fort
0 base
+12 by class to 20
+10 any class 21-40
+2great fortitude
+4epic fortitude
+17 con
+? gear
fort save of 45 before gear. +9 from save gear is realistic for 54 fort save.

+12 is definately doable with gear. +5 from Scarab of Protection (+5 all saves), +4 from Boots of the Gargoyle, and another +5 from a Cloak of Resistance +5. Also, this is not counting an Empowered Iron Guts Spell, which would add +6, if I am not mistaken.
So another +18 is definately possible.

Assassin Death Attack (10 + Assassin level + INT mod):
Level 30 Assassin = +30
Starting INT of 18, raise to 33 at level 40 = +11
INT from items and spells = 45 = +17
Death Attack DC (fort save) = 10 + 30 + 17 = 57

Difference between posting a maximum and using such a build on Avlis, SoE .

It stacks... so you'd get +2 and then +4 for a +6 total (I think those are the right numbers)

I can get DC 34 vs fort with my monk attacks on Moredo.
Edit: Changed the number, won't be 35 until I get to level 30 which still is quite far away on the horizon.
And it's for the special monk attacks, Stunning Fist and Quivering Palm.

Is that DC for things like Quivering Palm?
I almost like this "Avlis PC" information just as much.
You out there Ed? What's the DC we should worry about?
Again, I'll never be fighting Ed in CvC, so this isn't OOC info that I'll use IC. Just curious is all.

Only problem is that the maximum for spell focus is +6 for epic spell focus. They do not stack with each other, but override.

So for a half-nymph sorcerer DC would be:
10 base + 22 from Charisma (54 total, 23 cha on level 1, 10 raises, +9 Greater Cha, +12 buff) + 6 from Epic Spell Focus + 9 from 9th level spell = DC 47. This is the absolute maximum for any mage on CoPaP and requires minmaxing beyond belief.
I think you have also forgotten to include DC boosting feats for psions.

It should be noted that this is a strictly hypothetical thread, and character builds of this nature are cheesy as all get out.
Pleaes don't ever use this thread as a justification to do something in game. Ever.
Please?
