The World of Avlis

On Monday, Hala is going to be officially open. This does not mean that we are linked with Avlis, this will come a little later. Avlis is supposed to be going SoU sometime in the near future but currently, I have no plans to do so. SoU feats, spells, prestige classes, etc. will be available but SoU will not be required to log in.

To kick things off, we are going to be doing a big DM quest on wednesday at 12am GMT. For conversions, that's 8pm my time and this was posted at close to 1:30pm my time.

The IP for the ftp, if you just want to do it that way, is ftp://24.224.162.19 . Waiting for me to get an application is a perfect time to be downloading these hak paks.

If your going through withdrawl like I was hop on over to Hala, its a great server and has many things in common with Avlis and alot that isn't! Its worth a look, I promise!

I ran around in it for about an hour or so. It is a big place with a beautiful layout. Good job pitched!

I ran about it a lot last night, very different feel to Avlis but at the same time very similar systems in place. It made an interesting change of place and is somewhere for me to try out a totally new chracter concept. I can see me splitting my time between both Hala and Avlis now, which will be nice when the linkup comes. I just look forward to there being more people on Hala to RP with. Talking to myself isnt the best

If I ever see anyone on, I'll log in with my char. and we can RP a little as we test a few things here and there (it isn't monday yet...). I logged in as soon as I saw you on today but I was seconds too late.

If SoU prestige classes are available in your world, how will that be handled when you eventually link up with Avlis? Some things with them could be changed on our end, and are still going through balance testing. This is more of a question for admins on both sides.

We will not link up until sometime after Avlis at least starts to go SoU. I had assumed that they were going to enable the prestige classes then but if they don't or if they are going to be edited first, something will be worked out. Most likely I'll change to Avlis' system.

For now though, don't worry about it and play your character however you want.

It's pretty simple. If you are playing a prestige class already on Avlis, you will be able to select levels in that class on Hala, in much the same way that some people were able to take levels of Shadow Dancer on Avlis even though we are not running SoU.

Since Hala shares a hakpak with us, it should work, theoretically. Since Hala is not SoU, you will not be able to START one of those prestige classes on Hala. I'm hoping it works this way but only time will tell.

Hala is an important element in fullfilling the confederation dream. Mapping out and fleshing all the outer and inner planes, each with a PW server, is something I really want done.

Please come play, we gots more DM's than players right now and its all a bit sad really.

lol, one player joined a little early and had four or five DMs on his ass for about half an hour. Needless to say his quest was extremely confusing... and he walked everywhere he went too! Poor guy...
