Hey, Avlis, I don't typically do things like this, but we found out after Joeyo's funeral that his mother has breast cancer. Admittedly, I hemmed and hawwed about this, but I decided to do something to help her out. I have set up a gofundme.com page taking donations to help her out. Please don't let the goal intimidate you, anything that can be donated is greatly appreciated. If you can't give, then all I ask is that this message gets passed along.

It was because of Joey that I joined this awesome community, this is my way of giving back.

It speaks well of you that you have such a desire to give back. Money has been really tight for my family but if I can find a way to squeeze out some extra for this, I definitely will.

EDIT: Gave what little we could, it's not much but we hope it will help even a little.

I am going to try hard to be there friday night with cash in hand, but if something goes awry i am glad theres a backup where i can send some help.

Thanks to your contributions, we have already raised over $500 for Joey's Mom. This is awesome work, and I will be keeping this page open until September 5th. All of the funds collected will be delivered personally to his mom on September 13th after a fund raising show in Chillicothe. If you are in or around the Columbus area this Friday night, please come to Bernie's bagels at 1896 n. High Street for music and more opportunities to donate.

Bumping the thread w/ an update. We've hit $600 online. thank you to everyone who have donated so far!

Bumping this thread with a new update: we have hit over $1100 dollars for this drive so far. The drive will end on September 5th to makes sure that Joey's mom gets the money in time. Bump and Update: we're at $1200 as of tonight. Can't tell you how much the family appreciates all of the help, everyone. I'll get more on Joey's Mom's condition tonight, and will post an update.

me, personally, I'm alright. still dealing with things.

Update on Joey's Mom: she is doing better, the spot on her lungs is looking better, and she is continuing the chemo on both breasts. I'll be seeing her next weekend, giving her what we've raised so far, and I will keep everyone updated.

Good news, we got the money to Joey's Mother this past Sunday, pretty emotional. Seeing some of the photos of him on days I can remember clearly was so jarring and made it very real for me. However, we gave her over $2000 between the shows and the gofundme site. Just thought I would keep everyone updated as to what is going on, and how this will help not only Joey's family, but this avlissian as well.
