No, no, not per hit, but per adventure.

So, Sammy and Zerub went on a quick adventure. Just for curiosity I opened my logs in a spreadsheet and summed the damage. Wow!! In about 50 minutes, we did approximately 155,000 points of damage!

Yeah, yeah, I know...you are thinking "Well, with that kind of damage, you could have the ~floaty~ on one of Pleth's monsters reading -Near Death-!"

Anyways, I am a number guy and I found that interesting. Never really thought about it.

Haha, that's amazing. Hey, that wasn't counting your dev crit hits either, right? I've never thought to figure out damage dealt over a session. And longswords aren't even in the top 5 of weapons for average damage either.

I can see it. Smeec vs trolls does 50-200 a hit x 7 every round (not including sneaks, great cleaves or AoO, and rarely misses). Even on a bad round, 500 damage in 6 seconds would be very reasonable. I can only imagine what that would add up to after the trip... but I will check the log next time (you got me curious).

Yeah I'm not sure what its trying to do for fighters either. I've seen this before and was thinking it was gonna profile the build, run through various iterations of attacks vs various AC and give you avg damage results but I dont think its even calculating damage correctly

How does one go about getting 7 attacks a round anyway? That's with improved 2-weapon fighting and haste?

Yes, hasted dual wielding goodness and nice ab (even more attacks when tranny tenser's is involved). The higher damage is from several things, including Favored Enemy and Bane of Enemies, specializations/power attack, 12-20 crit ranges, buffs... more buffs and militant. Trolls are one of the best since they aren't crit or sneak immune, and fire does even more. I don't go there often, since it is total overkill, but it sure is fun when I do.

Neglecting the possibility of respawns, wouldn't different characters on the same adventure do the same amount of total damage?

yeah, thats why I posted what I had hoped was some kind of DPS calculator, but alas.

Solo, yes. Unless the used spells or abilities that killed without returning dmg to the log.

I want to put rode geris and gurkz in a room have kassha cast and see if the dps calc can keep up!

yeah, thats why I posted what I had hoped was some kind of DPS calculator, but alas.

It does not calculate BAB correctly, that's true, but you can fudge it to get close and its still a very useful tool.

Barring level-based spawns, there's the timing thing. Over the same time period in the same place, what was your (group's) total damage. You might end up behind or ahead.

Assuming both PC's reach the exact same adventure, and all monsters are the same level (HP), AND they are alone. They should do a SIMILAR amount of damage. Each PC will do a different amount of overkill damage to each individual creature.


Joe Orc has 1,000hp

bobby PC kills him the last hit doing 15dmg
bobby has done between 1,001~1,014

Pantera PC kills him the last hit doing 400dmg
Pandara has done between 1,0001 ~ 1,399

repeat over 1,000 iterations and depending on how hard your PC can potential hit even their personal damage dealt over an adventure can fluctuate. If your with a group you need to account for how many attack rounds you actually had (because the other person or persons is reducing the amount of damage you can do).

Much easier to just search the log for all instances of you doing damage and total them, since no one cares how many total hp the critters have. This is e-peen stuff and how much you can do in a set length of time. No one said anything about it being useful.

Not really even how much you can do in a set of time. I just found it interesting how much damage is really done on an adventure. I guess I am always seeing damage, most of the time from 50-300 or so. Just never thought about it adding up into the 100 of thousands during an outing.
