Weird Video bug.... Semi Transparent weapons?

I just noticed this happening recently, not sure when exactly.

Swords and bows when equipped on my character seem to be semi transparent, parts of them anyway. So much that when in improved inviso and you're semi transparent, those parts are now invisible. Very odd looking. Also, some of the spider models don't have legs that reach the ground, ie.. the thin tips of their legs dont show up on my screen.

Anyone have any ideas? Just a few minutes ago I updated video drivers, no change. ATI Radeon HD 5450 card if it matters and Windows 7.

Thanks!

I have had this issue for a long time. Sometimes even armor is semi transparent. Sometimes reequipping them helps others it does not. I THINK the issue has to do only with items edited with IG weapon and armor models. As for the spiders I have seen that too, no idea why its like this, I have ideas and thoughts, but I normally just play zoomed all the way out and have my graphics turned down or my poor laptop will get all laggy on me. The graphics of NWNs never really did that much for me in the first place, it was the RP and the game mechanics. Sorry no help for your issues I just ignore them on my computer.

Well, glad I'm not the only one, but... makes sense about the edited model thing.

Thanks for the input!

With issues like this it would help if you could tell us a bit more about your system

What OS do you run? Win XP, XP64, Vista, Vista 64, 7, etc...

What videocard do you have (make/model)
What driver version are you running?

How have you set up your NWN? Textures, antialiasing, shadows, lights etc...(this is all stored in your nwn ini files)

Sometimes knowing what processor is in your rig can help too.

This partial invisibility could be a shader issue or a texturing glitch or any kind of things, but without knowing more it is hard to give advice.

Check that you also have environment mapping on creatures enabled under video options. I've seen some weird stuff like that when I accidentally turned it off.

Thanks Gorgon, the environment mapping on creatures toggle did it. All is opaque that should be.

Of course, on some video cards, environment mapping on creatures causes some textures to not appear correctly. This means some monsters, placeables, and bits of outfits will randomly flicker between the texture/skin and white. This is different than custom textures/skins not loading when you start the game (which sometimes occurs).
