Definition of 'retcon' in case you're not familiar: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=retcon
The Team tries extremely hard not to have to do these things, but with the new map available (viewtopic.php?f=139&t=114977) we've decided it's sort of necessary, so:
From this point forward, please assume that the large fortress on the northeastern coast of M'Chek, now occupied by shaahesk, was not constructed from scratch but instead was once held by a noble but then abandoned. Reasons for this turn of events are the subject of rumor... perhaps the noble got killed, died with no heir, or lost all his gold in a game at the Red Eye, or was, along with his family, eaten by pyrite dragons. Shaahesk moved in, took the place over, and renovated it to their needs as a base of operations and a structurally sound Keep. The southern fortifications were constructed from scratch, by shaahesk after the invasion.
Thanks for rolling with the retroactive lore change, but it just makes more sense than constructing it from scratch.
